Details: Energy – Design – Design Engineer Noresco has an immediate need for a Design Engineer in Irvine, CA As a Design Engineer at NORESCO, you’ll work with our Project Development team to ensure that final engineering designs will achieve savings guarantees and functional performance.  You’ll also interact with other NORESCO internal groups to ensure their requirements have been incorporated into each design package.  Teamwork is essential as every person on our team plays a vital role in the successful completion of every project we do.  This is an opportunity to observe your design work actually accomplish what you intended it to accomplish.  And your career path will be to grow and develop into a senior design role.  In order to be successful in the role of Design Engineer, you will need to perform the following tasks:  Work closely with the Project Development team to write detailed scopes of work and design drawings to ensure each project can be priced by a turn-key design/build subcontractor.  Coordinate with all internal departments to ensure requirements from M&V, O&M, Commissioning and analysis have been incorporated into the design packages.  Manage Design Consultants during the implementation phase, ensuring the final design can achieve savings guarantees and functional performance.  Review shop drawings and equipment submittals for conformance to the original design and customer requirements. Perform heating/cooling loads as well as piping and duct pressure calculations.  Take direction from the Senior Energy Design Engineer, while taking the lead role on the smaller, less complicated measures.  Travel up to 25% to project sites.

The design must be optimized for manufacturability (cost and quality) and must be conducted per ISO/TS 16949 requirements (DFMEA, Gantt, TMR, PDR, etc.) and in conformance to Company design standards. The Design Engineer is responsible for conducting ECO's and engineering support as directed.The Design Engineer must determine design parameters (shape, thickness, configuration) based on functionality requirements. The Design Engineer must then incorporate these parameters into a design that they will present to the Design Engineering Manager for approval.The principal outputs of the Design Engineer include Pro/E CAD models, detailed assembly and component drawings (in Pro/E), bill of materials and other specifications as required for manufacturability. The Design Engineer will release engineering documents and CAD Models for prototype and production and will provide design support during these stages as required.
